Curriculum
How Edgecomputenet sequences technical analysis training when the goal is trustworthy backtesting of chart setups.
The curriculum below underpins the Backtesting Chart Setups Intensive and informs shorter clinics and labs. It is a teaching sequence, not a software product.
Name the setup without poetry
Replace vague labels (“strong reversal”) with observable conditions: which candle relations, which levels, which session filters. If two independent readers cannot agree on an instance, the rule is unfinished.
Write invalidation before entry
Stops and time exits are drafted first so historical marking cannot invent mercy after the fact. We practice freezing the rule when a bar looks “almost” valid.
Sample across regimes
Students collect instances from trending stretches, sideways weeks, and news-heavy days. A setup that only thrives in one climate is labelled as conditional, not universal.
Journal without vanity metrics
Each instance records context, adherence to rules, and outcome. We discourage headline win rates until sample size and ambiguity notes are honest.
Packet review and next setup
A coach reads the packet aloud with you, challenges cherry-picking, and helps decide whether to paper-trade, revise, or retire the idea. Then the same path can be reused on a second setup family.
Materials you will use
Printed or PDF rule worksheets, a simple instance table, and your own charting history. We reference free public data where possible so cost is not a barrier to practice.
