Backtesting Chart Setups Intensive

A six-session coaching arc that takes one of your chart setups from vague pattern recognition to a written rule set with a completed historical review.

Backtesting Chart Setups Intensive

Who it is for

Active traders who already mark charts and want evidence before they size a position. You should know basic candlestick structure, support and resistance, and have access to free historical data for the instruments you trade. Absolute beginners who have never opened a chart are better served by preparatory reading first; ask us and we will say so honestly.

Result you work toward

By the final session you hold a backtest packet for one primary setup: written entry and exit rules, stop logic, sample-size notes, a table of historical instances, and a short coach commentary on where the rules held and where they frayed.

What is included

  • Kick-off call to lock the setup family (for example opening-range break, failed retest, or engulfing reversal at prior day high)
  • Rule worksheet templates for entries, invalidation, targets, and time stops
  • Guided sampling across quiet and volatile periods on your chosen timeframe
  • Journal format for tagging each instance (context, result, notes)
  • Mid-arc review of your first 30–50 marked instances
  • Final packet review with pass/fail criteria you can reuse on the next setup

What is excluded

We do not provide live trade signals, account management, broker recommendations, or guarantees of future performance. Software licences for charting packages remain your responsibility. Sessions do not include tax or financial-product advice under Australian law; training is educational.

Provider and process

Sessions are led by Edgecomputenet instructors with multi-year experience coaching discretionary traders through historical reviews. Process: enquiry → brief call to confirm fit → schedule six dates → complete homework between sessions → final packet hand-off.

Preparation

Bring screenshots or exportable charts of the setup you want tested, note the markets and sessions you actually trade (ASX cash, index futures, FX majors, etc.), and set aside two to three hours between meetings for marking bars.
